Home of the Original Buffalo Chicken Wing is Anchor Bar in Williamsville located at 6635 Transit Road less than 2 miles from the Buffalo Airport and just off the thruway exit 49. A family friendly sports bar serving wings, pizza, burgers and more! We welcome sports teams, happy hours, business meetings for lunches and dinners. Anchor Bar’s story began in 1964 in Buffalo, New York, when Teressa Bellissimo accidentally created the first Buffalo Chicken Wing by deep frying the chicken wings and tossing them in a secret sauce. Since then, Anchor Bar has become a globally recognized sensation, earning the James Beard Foundation’s America’s Classics Award in 2003.
